The practice is located in a brand new purpose-built surgery, which includes trainee accommodation in a two-bedroomed self-contained flat.
We look after our own patients, some pre-convalescent patients and a small casualty (24 hour cover) in the nearby local community hospital, which opened in 1999.
The practice has a list of approximately 12,000. We cover an area bounded to the east by the North Sea and the south by the River Humber. Our branch surgeries at Patrington and Roos provide a dispensing service for our rurally based patients. We opened a new branch surgery in Roos in 1999.
We are part of the Holderness co-op for out of hours services. We act as medical officers for the Spurn lifeboat and also provide medical cover for the local off-shore gas rigs which provides us with an interest in off-shore and industrial medicine.
The practice has the usual reception staff, practice nurses and dietician and we have a close liaison with our District Nurses, Health Visitors and Midwife who work from the same premises.
We also have various outpatient clinics attached to the Health Centre and so have an opportunity to discuss cases with a variety of consultants.
We run an appointment system and are fully computerised.
The partners have a variety of interests, both medical and social. We aim to provide a comprehensive range of services to our patients, bearing in mind the distance they have to travel to reach specialist services.
